This is Switchfoots newest and brightest CD yet!!! As a longtime follower I love that "Switchfoot" sound that is ever present in their songs. My two favorites would have to be Awakening and Circles. The words are a symphony of feelings and tender worship!!!! Love it!!! Great accomplishment guys!!! His Blessings & His Grace

This is a solid record. A few of the songs are the reliable, good ol' Switchfoot that we've grown to love. However, they also experiment with some fun, exciting, new elements for your listening pleasure and appreciation. It's a good album for people who like to be able to hear a song multiple times and still pick out new little bits every time. But it also works for those who like to be pulled in on the first listen. As usual, we're not let down in the department of meaningful lyrics from Jon Foreman. All the different tracks also present a good variety musically. Overall, there is less polish, but no loss of quality. (Actually, the lack of overly-produced songs is quite refreshing). Bravo, Switchfoot. You've done it again.

i don't like "christian" music or labels at all for that matter, but this album (NIS) is their best so far. SO diverse, and the band works so well toegther.

EVERY thing that Switchfoot plays gets you hooked. When you lisen to 1 song (like Stars).... your gona become like me.... a person who loves Switchfoot and the Lord. Trust me... one note makes you want more and more.....(Hey guys... lets do lunch sometime...) Love ya!!!!!!!!!

A golden masterpiece! That's how people have described The Beautiful Letdown disc. After three discs with the Christian music industry, Switchfoot has went into the secular one as well. "Meant to Live" will change a lot of people's lives, that's for sure! In fact, the whole album will. "This is your Life" makes you stop and think: Is my life all I want it to be? Today is all we really have. "More than Fine" addresses the band's dissatisfaction with mediocrity or just the good life. "Ammunition" tells us that WE are to blame first-hand for life's problems! "Dare You to Move" is a heavier version of their Learning to Breathe disc version, which was more of a pop sound. It asks the question: How can you change your life? Where can you go to solve your problems? "Redemption" is definitely a desperate call-out to a supreme diety, which, considering their Christian background, is God! The title track tells us that we, as Christians don't belong in this world. Heaven's our real home. Switchfoot believes that. "Gone" tells us these things: we're not immortal, life won't last, and you don't have nothing if your soul is lost. The theme of "On Fire" is exactly like "Redemption." "Adding to the Noise" tells us these things: getting things in life won't satisfy, because we'll always want more in life. Also it tells us that the media tells us ONLY what we WANT to hear. Finally..."Twenty Four" tells listeners that they experience doubt, bad thoughts and feelings and excuses for mistakes, but they still want to see the world change and miracles happen. They realize God's Spirt must be with them in order for that to take place. If you don't believe this interpretation of the track, then consider why Spirit is capitalized. All the themes are Biblical, just said in a secular way! Let's pray that Switchfoot continues to rock for our Lord.

didnt think they were christian and as a rule i think christian music is lacking in creativity, however i really think these guys have a way of articulating there message in a way that is not so preachy and has the potential to attract people whom, like me find that music style less than palatble. Well done guys, well done indeed

I love "New Way to be Human".. I think like many people it was the crossover hit from Christian rock to mainstream, "Meant to Live", that first caught my attention. I have three albums now.. still need Legend of Chin.. and I love all of them. My favorite song now is "Company Car" since it really reminds me what is and what is not important in life, and what path I do not want to let myself be led down. I am not a Christian in any traditional sense and do not refer to myself as one. I am 34 years old too, so I suppose I don't fit the general demographic for the band. But I think that's part of what's so great about Switchfoot, they just have amazing, heartfelt spiritual songs and thoughtful, positive lyrics so the appeal is potential universal as well. I spin their CDs in my car more than anything else these days and I think they're fantastic.

i love switchfoot so much, they're awesome. theyre music is great to listen to. theyre a christian band, so thats a plus. ;] i went to one of their concerts and it was incredible, i really felt like they sang from their hearts toward Him. buy a cd, pull up a chair, raise the volume 'til it blows your ears out.

ive had the cd since it came out and i think it very well could be #1 album of the yr. i love because the music is great but also the lyrics have meaning

I love Switchfoot! Their songs are addictive! I first saw the the video on VH1 and I think that it is about time we have more Christian songs on VH1 and MTV. I think that Meant To Live will make a big difference in alot of teens lives. God bless!
