Review by josie for Sara Groves : Add To The Beauty 2006-02-05
I first heard Conversations all the way down here in Sydney, Australia when I was going through the roughest time in my life, before I had truly grasped hold of what God was offereing me. In Sara's lyrics, I saw she'd already been on that journey I was about to embark on.
Three years and four Sara albums on, she still holds a special place in my heart and I love to pick up each new CD and find out where she is on her journey, and what God has given her to tell us all.
Add to the Beauty does just that, not the most boppy record, but a really consolidating record. It's a record full of peace and amazing songs, which must reflect where Sara is at the moment. Of course I want to see her with just as much hype surrounding her name as the Knapps and St James' of this world, but that's up to the next record. All in God's timing. I recommend you buy Add to the Beauty, and add to Sara's INFLUENCE for GOD & BEAUTY in the world!!!!!!!!!
Review by Monica Seidler for Sara Groves : Add To The Beauty 2005-12-18
For me, this cd with its autumnal cover art is one of Sara Groves' most beautiful ones–with the smooth, charming melodies, with its rhythm driven, atmospheric and warm sound, with its wide stylistic spectrum between familiar and subtle new, and with the hopeful, poetic lyrics. - "Add To The Beauty" is not only her album with the most songwriters' teamwork, but also the most rhythm driven. The warm sound with a lot of piano and guitars is enriched with Rhodes, B3, cello, English horn and a so-called scitando harp and weaves on the smooth pop tapestry of Station Wagon (2005). The straight forward folk-pop-feel and the narrative, honest lyrics paint pictures of hope and faith amidst our everydayness and very much recall the label debut of this gifted singer-songwriter with her softly melancholic voice: Conversations (2000/01). Each song shows how amazingly beautifully and redemptive God can work in our lives: renewing, healing, and even rewriting tragedies. Our world really is in need of such beauty that tells God's redemptive story in a creative way!

Sara Groves is awesome! Everyone should listen to her. I went to a concert recently, and I was blown away. She sounds exactly like she does on the c.d. in person. Her lyrics encourage me to be a better person and to focus on what is important in life (my relationship with God and my relationship with others.)

Sara's music has changed my life. She expresses the Lord as her best friend just the way i feel He is. When I first heard her. WOW! Every thing she felt is how i speak with the Lord and my past experiences. i have 5 children and they all love her and we all have been inspired by the truth that she sings. My friend who needs to know the Lord, I know will love SG. thankyou for not keeping this talent to yourself Sara, but that you cared enough to live through your trials and use them as a tool.. God has truly blessed you.. thankyou Carol Bohl

I first heard of Sarah Groves last year on the 700 club...she was singing "The Word". At that time I was feeling a deep hunger to draw closer to the Lord, and He was leading me to a deeper and closer relationship and getting deeper into HIS WORD. It was just so phenomenal that he would remind me of his leading with this perfect song... I have been searching but christian music in English is difficult to come by where I live (spanish-speaking country) and I am so excited to finally find a site where I can get her music. There is just something about her voice and her obvious sincerity in what she is singing and the fact that she is so down-to-earth! Praise God that she is willing to use her talent to His glory!

I am a new fan and I like the acoustics on the Other Side of something.(CD) I defintely like Jeremiah and What I thought I was, the most. Songs from real life in a simple manner.
Buy it.

Sara Groves is the best singer/song-writer in Christian music today. "The Other Side of Something" is a great album, as are all three of SG's previous productions. "Esther" and "The Boxer" are two of the coolest songs I've heard in a long time. I typically don't listen to music of this genre, but the honesty in these songs has won me over. Now I listen to her albums all of the time.

I first heard Sarah Groves music in a friend's room back in college and the next time i stopped at the music shop i picked the "Conversations" album. My family just can't get enough of it! Her music's simplicity realy gets the message of God's love to the heart! May God bless her!
