The songs on Adeline Street find their roots in some of Yancy's sojourns throughout 2001, including a New Year's eve performance in Stockholm, Sweden, and a summer missions trip to Cameroon, Africa. During these travels, Yancy discovered a vigor and passion for God among the people she visited; a dogged determination to serve Jesus no matter what the sacrifice. She connected with this raw, innocent fervor and began to challenge her own walk with Christ, determining within herself to live it to the fullest.

And that determination is the backbone of Adeline Street. Taking its name from a street Yancy's Mom lived on as a young child, the album is a collection of her most personal songs yet. These songs tackle issues relevant to every believer, including salvation, trust, faith, destiny and living a life enriched with God's promises to His children. In a nutshell, Adeline Street is about the joy of having a personal relationship with Jesus.

In addition to being a strong album thematically, Adeline Street also showcases Yancy's ever-sharpening songwriting skills. Melodically and lyrically, Yancy continues to evolve from the time she first put pen to paper as a teenager, stretching herself as a songwriter. As a tuneswmith, she's worked with a host of Dove Award winning songwriters in the industry and she's even seen a song that bears her name go #1 and be recorded by Avalon for their Grammy nominated Oxygen album.
