The Orange County Supertones are one of the greatest bands to ever play music, and for those of you that haven't heard, they recently announced their retirement. I have purchased every CD, and Loud and Clear is my favorite, but they're all very good. If you want to get a good feel for them, buy Live Volume One, so you can hear them live, and hear their hits. The O.C. Supertones will be greatly missed but their music will continue to show up in my cd player

Being a ska fanatic and a trumpet player, I've loved the Supertones since I was 12. Not only does their music kick butt, but they're the coolest bunch of guys around. I will admit that "Revenge" is their worst cd, but at least a couple songs are good (tracks 1,2,3,5,7). I love the song "Wilderness" on Loud and Clear though. It doesnt have the best horn line, but the words are so uplifting. I played that at a show with my band, and the secular crowd was really touched by it. I love the Supertones!!!

I have been a fan for eight years. It is tough hearing that they are saying good-bye. I have enjoyed every cd they have put out and although they have gone through many changes, as far a musicians go, they are still a great band. I am looking forward to their tour coming up in 2005 and hope that I will be able to go, seeing that it will be their last. I got hooked on their cd "Strike Back". I am proud to say that I have all their cds. I hope that The Grand Incredible starts something, that would be nice. For those of you that don't know what that is, it was a side project that Matt and Ethan did. It sounds just like The Supertones but without the horns. Even if you are getting into The Supertones as the "United" cd is coming out, I recommend getting any of their other cds you can.

Review by Nick White for The Orange County Supertones 2004-10-03
The Orange County Supertones have been pumping out good ska/rock tunes since their first release in 1995(Adventures of the O.C. Supertones). Their fourth disc, Loud and Clear, is a transition into much harder tunes(evidenced by "Escape Reason," "Jury Duty," "Return of the Revolution," "Wilderness," "Pandora's Box," "Another Show," "20/20," and "Who Could It Be"). If you get this disc or know of the Supertones, just beware that some of the tunes I just mentioned and others that they've done through the ages are in-your-face and preachy! This is especially true about "Return of the Revolution," which tells us the need for spiritual revival and the return of excitement about our faith or a "revolution." "Escape Reason" is about the church having lost touch with the modern world(we're not as effective in preaching the Word as we used to be) with the first verse talking to Christians and the second verse addressing the non-Christians. "Jury Duty" talks about a real experience Mojo Morginsky had one Tuesday when he had to drive to a courthouse to do jury duty(hence the title). He ended up having a bad day, and then realized later that we should be thanking God for the bad as well as good moments in life because it's all his creation! "Wilderness" addresses the doubt the Supertones do have about their faith from time to time, as we all do, that comes with the fact that "the rain falls down on the righteous and the wicked." They do take comfort in the fact that "my thoughts and ways are not his(God's)". At the end, they tell God that they will still serve him even though they have these doubts! "Father's World" tells us that even though the Devil seems so strong today, we can know that God is still in control. "Pandora's Box" alludes to the Greek legend of Zeus punishing man for his evils and his obtaining fire by sending the girl Pandora down to earth with a box containing all the evils and suffering that would come upon man if opened. Pandora was created with every talent imaginable(including curiosity). She opened the box, and the suffering came upon man. Then they allude to Adam and Eve eating the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden(a biblical story found in Genesis Chapter 3) and conclude that we're fools to mess with sin and stop anytime we want to without the Lord's intervention! "Forward to the Future" tells us time is short and we should look to the future and what God has for us; to use our talents and gifts for him. "Another Show" tells us that we should thank the Lord for our lives and the talents and opportunities to serve that he has given and will give. "20/20" asks: What's important? Did you serve God with your life, or were you just selfish? We will all have to stand before him and give an account for our lives. Finally..."Who Could it Be" and "Spend it with You" address nonbelievers, telling them about Jesus and that the Supertones and Jesus want them to spend heaven together. Great disc if you're looking to revive your faith and want the fire for Jesus back! We should all pray that this will happen to all of us and that the band will continue to be around and jam for Christ!

This is hard to say since the Supertones are my all-time favorite band. But to be honest, this is their worst CD to date. If you are a Supertones or ska fanatic, it may be worth picking up; about half the cuts are well worth listening to. But its a letdown considering on their other recent material (Chase the Sun, Loud and Clear, Hi-Fi Revival) I didn't skip a single track. Sounds like they kept some of the material from the failed worship album around and snuck it in on this.

The new album "The revenge of the O.C. Supertones" rocks the universe! The lyrics are no less than divinely inspired and is something that young people can definitely relate to. The music just blows me away.

The O.C. Supertones are the GREATEST BAND EVER!!! If you have never heard them, then you seriously need to get one of their cd's. I suggest "Chase the Sun". That one is my favorite of the seven so far.

The supertones are one of my favorite bands. They introduced me to ska, and now its one of my favorite genres. My favorite cds are probably "Supertones Strike Back" and "Live vol.1". and even though they've changed on their new cd, I still love them. If you like their older cds i recommend five iron frenzy.

Supertones are AWESOME!! Man, this band is so uplifting. I finally saw them live in Cali for the See Spot Rock tour. I know listening to the words has really helped me through tough times and helped me, with just everything. Peace out.

OH MY GOSH!!! From the second I heard Superfly, I was sold. I was kinda thinking they had changed alot, but these guys have redefined themselves, and that is a truly rare gift to use well. I was first hooked with "Adventures of the O.C. Supertones." Man, good times. Two thumbs up!
