The Elms are four guys from Seymour, Indiana who are fiercely devoted to one another: Owen Thomas (Lead Vocals), Thomas Daugherty (Lead Guitar), Nathan Bennett (Bass Guitar) and Chris Thomas (Drums). Owen, also the band’s lyricist and chief songwriter, cannot imagine the band any other way. The Chess Hotel is a literate, wound-up, highly emotional collection. It presents 13 songs about life in a small town. The songs sound, according to Owen, alternately “loose,” “noisy,” “tatty,” “riffy,” and, not least, “loud.” For The Elms purposes here, he argues, hi-fi studio creations would have been dead wrong.

The Elms are awesome! Everyone can enjoy their music regardless of age or genre of music they prefer. They are so real with real emotions and life struggles yet offer help at the same time...GOD!

THE ELMS ROCK! They are by far my favorite band, and in my opinion the best that the music industry has to offer right now. They have such an amazing sound that is truly nostalgic of some of the great music from the 60's and 70's. And the lead singer has such and incredible voice and range. I have been lucky enough to see THE ELMS Rock Out twice already and I'm HOOKED! I am definetly planning on seeing them many more times in the future. I very much recommend that you check out these guys too, and belive me you won't be disappointed.

The elms are my favorite band!I bought their cd "big surprise" when they were in concert at my church camp in July 2002. I have been to two more concerts after that and still love them to this day.. I bought their new cd "truth soul rock & roll" when it came out but can't decide which I like better. The style is awesome in both but totally different. That's what I like about them, they change their style of music a little to where it's not the same thing over and over again. I love the new cd and the elms themselves. they are so talented and have a very bright future. Can't wait to see them in concert for the forth time!

the elms. . . what an awesome band. i heard them live for the first time this past weekend and they rocked(1/19/03) the lead singer is definitley a performer and the rest of the band follows suit. the new album makes earthquakes look weak. i recommend this to anyone looking for a sound to blow them away

I just bought The Elms cd, The Big Surprise, and in my opinion it is AWESOME!!!! The music sounds similar to a couple of Garbage's songs, but the lyrics are based completely on God. Your Glowing (number 9) is my favorite song by them. I love this cd and who ever buys it probaly will too.
