Released August 8, 2006.

Stuart Pierce's debut album, Too Far To Fly, is the culmination of years of musical and business preparation. But he hopes it can be about something more than the music. Even though Stuart is only a small-time touring musician, he wants to be an active player against the injustice that is ravaging Africa, which spans simple needs, such as clean water, to AIDS, a globally complex issue. There are numerous groups whose mission is to work towards solutions in Africa. To this end, Stuart will be giving a percentage of all his tour earnings to the Blood:Water Mission. He hopes that by giving from his undeserved provision to those with undeserved need, he can influence change in the hearts of his audience and the heart of himself.

Since 2001, Stuart has tempered his musical styles, playing hundreds of performances with numerous groups. A blend of 90s rock and acoustic folk, his music uses catchy melodies and memorable guitars to grip the ear and keep the interest. Though his songs are thick with the influence of Paul Simon and Chris Cornell, they maintain their own uniqueness.

Review by Ann for Stuart Pierce : Too Far To Fly 2006-08-24
My favorite song on "Too Far to Fly" at first was Gracie. Then it was Fourward. Then I kept singing Everybody Here all the time (How can a hopeless song make you feel so happy??) I love the way the songs really do all hang together around the idea in Divine Whoa. And I love the rain sounds, and especially I love Blue Graze. I love the way the lyrics don't hit you over the head with an idea but make you think and wonder. And I think what I love most is just the sheer joy of making music that somehow goes from that little round disc straight to your heart. Thanks, Stuart.

Review by Dave Sadler for Stuart Pierce : Too Far To Fly 2006-08-15
I really like this CD by Stuart Pierce, a newcomer to the professional music scene. Stuart’s guitar and voice blend well to make a excellent medium for delivering what really shines on this CD...his song writing ability. Most of the songs are simple in structure, carry important messages, and have catchy tunes. This is not to say that his playing and vocals are any less important to the CD. He knows the fret board very well, plus his voice allows him to deliver the songs with clarity. The tracks that you’ll have the most difficulty getting out of your head are “Gracie” and “Knowing Everybody Here”. A departure from the lyrical quality of most of the tracks is “Bluegraze”, which is a frolicking instrumental number that demonstrates Stuart’s relaxed picking prowess. Though you would classify this CD as acoustic, Stuart does not shy from the creative use of various effects such as delay, chorus, and occasional flanging/phasing. The way he incorporates these effects in no way diminishes the acoustic feel of this CD. The mark of a good CD is, when finished listening, you find the music so comfortable that you say to yourself, “It’s seems like I’ve heard this before”…..Well, I had that feeling with this one. Buy the CD and look for more good things to come from Stuart Pierce. Dave Sadler The Purple Doors www.thepurpledoors.com
