Although Scott Riggan has become known for his popular worship songs, he’s not exactly comfortable with the label of “worship artist”.

“It’s true that my shows end with a time of worship,” explains Scott, “and I do write a lot of worshipful songs. But my songwriting covers it all – love, faith, family – you name it. I don’t feel any need to limit my subject matter.”

But with songs like “I Love You Lord” (his nationwide #1 radio hit) and his communion song “Remember” being sung in churches all over the world, Scott started to feel some pressure to record a set of worship tunes for his second solo project.

“Everyone encouraged me to do a worship CD. Instead, I ended up writing a bunch of songs about what it means to be a worshiper.” At the heart of Scott’s new project is a powerful verse of Scripture from the book of Romans:

“Therefore I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God – this is your spiritual act of worship…” [Romans 12:1, NIV]

“In our culture, worship is something we do in a church building – we ‘worship’ and then the preacher gives a sermon,” Scott explains. “But the way I see it, worship is better defined as a life lived in submission to our great and holy God. A life lived on the altar.”

This idea of a life lived “on the altar” runs throughout “Bring Glory” in songs like “I Live To Praise You”, “Altar of my Heart” and “Matches”. The CD opens with “Great Is The Lord” and reaches a key moment with “Lay Me Down”:

“I am a proud man in my heart of hearts It is not in my nature to kneel But falling down at the feet of the Lord of the stars Now I know how humility feels…”

“If God is just a mediocre god,” Scott says, “then what would be the point of worshiping Him? The starting point for an attitude of worship is acknowledging the greatness of God.”

Wow! This is the best modern Christmas song I have ever heard of! The other songs on the CD are really good too, but I bought it for "Bethlehem". Excellent!!!!!! Five stars!

Scott's music truly is a reflection of who he is. His love for the Lord is evident, both in the music and in person. Keep it up Scott!

Review by Kyle Liedtke/KNLR for Scott Riggan 2005-09-23
KNLR (Bend, OR) plays very few indie artists...but Scott Riggan has found a home on our playlist. His music is accessible, his lyrics are personal and poignant and I believe his passion for excellence in his music honors the Lord. Listen for Scott Riggan on KNLR!

Review by Michael Scherer for Scott Riggan : Bring Glory 2005-09-23
I have been listening to Scott since the good 'ol days of the NOBODY'S! His music continues to mature along with the obvious fact that his walk with Christ continues to mature. This reflects through all of Scott's music and especially on his latest project Bring Glory. Most albums done by people have maybe one song that challenges or inspires your life. Bring Glory has several, but not just to inspire a life changing moment, but rather to be changed in every moment by worshipping our Creator. Great job Scott!

Review by Lucie for Scott Riggan : Bring Glory 2005-09-10
I live in Vancouver, WA, and I just saw Scott's concert last night. This CD rocks. I think "Lay me down" is the most convicting song I've every heard, and it inspires me to want to follow Jesus with all of my heart. "Bring glory" is also really cool - and it's a lot different than the live version. It was an excellent concert and this is a great CD!

Review by Tanya Miller for Scott Riggan : Bring Glory 2005-09-06
A co-worker played Scott's CD for me in her car a few weeks ago while we were on a business trip, and I loved it. "Show Them Jesus" is my favorite, and I think it expresses the idea of sharing Christ with the world better than any song I've ever heard before. I love every song, but especially that one!!
