"This project for me is not simply the end result of a creative
journey or an exercise in musical expression. It is the
emotional, intellectual and spiritual process of sorting
through
life, love and the battle that is my humanity. Edges of the
Unafraid is the honest declaration of where I find myself
in
that process. It reflects an almost daily struggle between
standing on the Hope that is unshakable and facing the trials
that are inevitable. It is my attempt to reach past the façade
of stoic happiness that is so often mistaken as our "Christian
responsibility" and embrace an authentic vulnerability that
cries in pain, rejoices in blessing, questions in confusion and
marvels at the depths of love… without losing perspective or
coming ungrounded. Pride would beg me to say that I am
unafraid; honesty would admit that I walk the edges. And in
the
middle of everything, I live by the voice that says, "Come to
me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you
rest." Matt 11.28
