It's not what you think it is. This is not another re-riffed and re-worded acoustic Mraz / Mayer / Matthews rip-off band. It's far simpler than that. It's not another lyrically shallow, feel- good "contemporary Christian band" either. It's far more real that that. Poor Rich Folk is no more than a window into the lives of the four musicians who make it up. It's a window into their relationships with the people around them, their relationships with God, their relationships with one another.

The band is made up of songwriter Luke Brawner (rhythm guitar and lead vocals), Randy Fuller (lead and rhythm guitar, mandolin, vocals), Jon Vanderveer (upright and electric bass) and Andy Brannon (drums, percussion, and backing vocals). Based out of Fort Worth , Texas , Poor Rich Folk seeks to challenge those who hear their music with the Gospel as it has been revealed to them through their own personal life experiences. Their message is meant for the ears of those who are "found" as much as, (and sometimes more than) it is for those who are "lost." Their simple music and honest, conversational lyrics can appeal to nearly any audience in all kinds of venues, from churches to clubs to coffeehouses.

Review by Alex Spear for Poor Rich Folk : No More Than A Window 2006-01-24
THis is one of the best CD's I have ever found and bought! I have been listening to Christian music for 20 yrs and Recently have searched for a good acoustic driven sound in a band. Poor Rich Folk is the best of that type I have heard in years. The lyrics are powerful and the playing is amazing. The recording is well blended and just plain amazing! The mandolin playing is awesome! Buy it, you WILL like it! Hope these guys get a label soon.

This cd is seriously amazing. I think one of my favorite things about Poor Rich Folk and their style of music is that it reaches such a diverse age and group of people. Normally when I buy cd's I like a couple of songs on them, but with this one I LOVE every song.

When I got this CD, I could not take it out of my CD player. To be honest, everyone I know who has it says the same thing. No More Than A Window draws you in and makes you think. It is honest, upfront, and touches on things that everyone can relate to. Their music is something that is unlike any other sound you have heard – it combines such unique music with incredible harmonies and lyrics, somehow producing a simple sound that you can’t get out of your head. Definitely a CD for everyone’s collection! It would be smart to get a second while you are it – people will ask to borrow it, and you won’t want to let it go.

An inspiring album full of honesty and depth. No over production, no fancy effects. Four blokes, their instruments and their lives put to music. Music how it should be.

Review by Beth for Poor Rich Folk : No More Than A Window 2005-10-12
If a person were to mix the musical styles of folk with acoustical Christian; throw in clear, tight harmonies; and wrap it all around painfully honest lyrics without the slightest hint of tired, sappy cliche's; what one would come up with is a very unique musical style that is impossible to fit into the molds of any currently recognized musical genre. What one would also have is Poor Rich Folk's "No More Than A Window." Not only is the music on the CD an unprecedented sound, it manages to break down generational borders and appeal to a wide audience range. The sound must be defined as "ageless" as it has potential to be enjoyed by young and old alike. Well done, indeed.

Review by David Anderson for Poor Rich Folk : No More Than A Window 2005-10-12
I saw Poor Rich Folk for the first time in a coffee shop in Waco Texas. I really liked what I heard so I bought their cd. I promise that you will like every song on this cd. It's amazing that this band is not signed yet. This cd should be at the top of your list. Buy it and you'll enjoy it. God bless your ministry guys---David Anderson

Review by Janet for Poor Rich Folk : No More Than A Window 2005-10-12
I LOVE this CD! The lyrics are honest and speak to me. I can listen to it over and over again and never tire of it. Every song on it is a reflection of the artist that wrote it. You can tell the band has a relationship with God and with each other. The music is upbeat but not over powering. Simple from the heart lyrics and a simple beat. Poor Rich Folk has a future in the Christian music industry.
