Matt Papa may be young at just 22, but there is a depth to his songwriting that reflects wisdom beyond his years. This outspoken minister and accomplished musician is passionate about his faith, and has a gift for crafting lyrics from scripture that are catchy and at the same time pack a spiritual punch.

Matt came to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ at 12 years old and in the same year he was also introduced to his grandmother's old six-string, which quickly became a favorite pastime. While in his teens, he began leading worship at his home church in Georgia and served weekly for the next five years. He then spent three years traveling and leading worship with other ministries, all the while completing college studies in music and guitar.

After a providential meeting with Spin 360 label head and industry veteran Stan Moser, Matt joined forces with the label and is now preparing for his first national release entitled You Are Good.

You Are Good has influences of both British rock and classical music. Each song is founded in God's Word and is brought to life by Matt's unique expression and appreciation of the Holy Scriptures. Not only is it rich in Truth, but also in musical excellence and creativity. You Are Good would be an encouragement to any church body or believer who desires to worship the Father with scriptural and adoring words set to inspiring music.

I bought this CD with only listening to bits of some tracks. I have since played it nearly incessantly and have bought 7 copies to give to friends because I enjoy it so much. It is truly a CD where I listen to every track because each and every one is worth listening to. I cannot wait for the next installment from Matt Papa with his scriptural lyrics, catchy melodies, and great singing. Keep up the great ministry!

Matt Papa is an amazing, godly guy. He's one of the most awesome worship leaders I have ever been priviliged to have at camp. (I saw him at Super Summer '05 - Go red school! And Super Summer '06 - go blue school!)His music is incredible, and it relates to a lot of things that people go through - he's just an awesome person, and God is doing a lot of things through him and in him. Oh yeah, Matt, hurry up and switch hair with me.

I bought Matt's album about two months ago, and what I've grown to love is the scripture that is saturated throughout. There is clearly a genuine and authentic approach to worship. Plus, it doesn't hurt that the guy is so talented...support this ministry!

Review by Alice Loweecey for Matt Papa : Matt Papa 2006-03-13
Raise the Roof! It’s official: I found the song I’ll be cranking up for this summer’s driving: Matt Papa’s “Lead Me On.” People will stand in line to follow the God Who inspires music like this. Matt has an appealing voice and a melodic way with lyrics. Many of the songs on this self-titled CD are pulled straight from Scripture. “In Your Arms” reminds us of the timelessness of Paul’s lament that so often we don’t do the very thing we desire to do. Then there are “Who Is Like You” and “23” - praise and worship for the car, for private prayer, for Bible study. As I listened to “Unto the One”, I could see a church congregation singing it louder and louder—raising the roof with intense praise. Matt’s version of “In Christ Alone” had a similar effect: It shouts at us to raise our hands! Lift our voices! “I Surrender All” and “My Portion Forever” are quieter offerings. I was reminded of the prayer of Ignatius of Loyola that begins, “Take, Lord, receive all…” Matt sings; “You’re my all when all is gone.” But he also says, “I can’t believe…that I should be Your dwelling place.” He’s captured that moment of awe that inevitably moves into praise of the Creator Who loves us. This CD is an invitation to open our Bibles and praise the All. -- Alice Loweecey

I may be the oldest one yet to comment on Matt's newly released CD. As a Mother of 3, I'm also inspired and moved at the truth in his lyrics. This CD is a personal favorite of my entire family, even my 2 year old requests it! This music is an inspiration to all who hear, what a blessing it is in a sad & lost world. I pray that more and more will come to know the truth of The Lord Jesus through this awesome CD & ministry. We pray that the Lord will continue to bless you Matt as you bless others through the gift of song!!

Hearing Papa's music was like listening to all the angels whispering sweet nothings into my eardrum holes. Personally, Papa is not very good at Risk or Monopoly, but God has really blessed him with a gift, and that is praising God though music!
