Matt Allison is a native of Cape Town, South Africa and has been performing his brand of folk-pop both locally and abroad for the past 5 years including 2 US tours with artists like Koo Chung, Jacob’s Well and Mark Philpot. Where this road leads is his sophomore offering and was produced by British producer, Koos Turenhout, who has helped create a fusion of heartfelt melodies with pop like embellishments.

Matt has been compared to artists like Jars of Clay, Bebo Norman and John Mayer, with Music Industry Online referring to him as ‘South Africa’s David Gray’ and who had this to say of the release:

"His delicate songwriting and graceful voice complement the rich production nicely, he sings with honesty in both his voice and lyrics, nothing pretentious or pompous - just a man with a guitar singing of ‘first principles’ like love, longing, nature and religion."

what an awesome album! there are so many good songs on this CD, it's pretty hard to choose a favourite one. matt's guitar playing is top-notch, and his voice excellent. with interesting and honest lyrics, this is one of the best acoustic-driven albums in the last few years. you owe it to yourself to check this one out! gareth www.gravitywinsagain.com

I have come to associate the words honesty, brilliance, soulful and spiritual with anything Matt Allison. The man's heart is in the right place and it is evident through the music he creates. Humble as they come, Matt Allison is here to stay!

I love Matt's music...bottom line. His lyrics, his music and his productions are captivating and have me clicking the "track back" button on many of his songs. Also, new EP is absolutley something everyone needs to hear.
Matt was able to partner up with Producer Mitch Dane (Bebo Norman, Jars of Clay) on a couple of songs and also produced a couple of songs himself. All in all, it's a wonderful album. His songs get stuck in my head and I find myself singing them quite often. Of course, my voice sounds nothing like Matt's great voice, so the songs take on a whole new life...one that is quite dull and irritating to those around me...sad.
Support a great independent artist and a great friend by buying 'Where This Road Leads' and you will get his new EP for FREE. Yippee!

Review by Greg Sailors for Matt Allison : Where This Road Leads 2004-05-12
Where This Road Leads, journeys us lyrically and melodically through the depth of a man’s expression of his love for His God and all of His creation, life, the faithful cancer that is all consuming, and the desire for passion. This offering is skillfully produced, honestly played, and not forced. It is in my regular rotation and I would suggest you do the same.
