Released 2002 Though a new name in independent music’s growing catalog of solo artists, Laura Story is no stranger to independent music. For 5 years, Laura toured as a member of one of the Southeast’s groundswell successes, Silers Bald. While in Silers Bald, Laura played piano, electric, and upright bass, and performed some lead and background vocals. Also sharing songwriting duties, Laura penned many works, including one of Silers Bald’s most recognizable songs, Grace. Not only a crowd favorite, Grace received substantial airplay on radio stations across the eastern US despite never being formally released as a single. Notably, it has become the most requested and called-about songs in the history of WAFJ in Augusta, GA. After parting from the group in 2001, Laura took a short hiatus and attended Columbia International University to study Bible and Music. It was during this time that Laura began to realize the importance of obtaining solid Biblical training for her ministry. For several months, she led worship at the school’s chapel as well as various churches and retreats. Laura then accepted an invitation from Watershed/Essential recording artist Andrew Peterson to join him on his Spring 2002 tour. Before returning to school in Fall 2002, Laura recorded her debut solo album in Nashville, TN, under producer Stephen Gause. This highly anticipated project truly showcases Laura’s talents as a songwriter and musician was independently released in November 2002.
