Released May 2003.

Hallelujah: let the wounded hear and rejoice is an album of worship songs created as a platform for broken hearted people to release a sacrifice of praise to God. This is the first solo release from Jon Shirley (former lead singer of the band Nickel and Dime) and it was written after a series of tragic events in his own life. Ps. 34:1 is the heartbeat of this offering, "I will extol the Lord at all times, and His praise will not leave my lips."

When I feel lonely, when I don't understand something that has happened, when my heart is sad, I put in "Heaven Hear Us" and in the praise and worship songs, I feel grounded again...encouraged. These songs help me to remember that life is all about Him. Thanks, Jon.

Jon's music has been a blessing to me for many years. When I used to go to his N&D concerts a worship service would always break out of a concert. I'm sure its not by accident as his music is a result of a heart that worships the living God. I can't say enough to recommend his music, but you will be blessed while you bless God with worship to Him.

A good friend of mine just turned me on to Jon Shirley. For the past month I have not listened to anything else, This album helps me to cry out to Jesus from my very soul. I am telling everyone I know about this album. Jon if your listening, would you lead worship at our church sometime?

I have never heard a worship cd like this before. It touches me to the very core of my soul. Such a transformation from emotional turmoil to praise and worship. There is no other cd that i like to worship along with, than this one.I am captivated and tear-struck.Deeply moved. Many will hear and embrace this grace filled offering of Jons's.There is truly a "spiritual blessing" entwined in this cd!!

Review by A FAN for Jon Shirley : Hallelujah: Let The Wounded Hear And Rejoice 2004-09-10
Sometimes we do all kinds of things and we call those things "worship" or "working for the Lord" and for the most part we are not truly listening to what Jesus wants us to do. I've heard Nickel and Dime and I've heard Jon at a See at the Pole Rally live but I've never enjoyed hearing Jon like I've enjoyed this release. Jon has truly taken a tragic event and turned it to praise for our Lord Jesus. Each song makes me want to worship. Each song when saying the word Jesus makes me long for him. When you take me, myself and I out and you leave the Saviour you get pure goodness and this CD is it. Pure love/No Mask. Thank you Jon for a cd to share with my youth. Jill would be so proud of you.

ahhh...that voice again. Though this CD was meant as a lament I was disappointed in not hearing some of Jon's thought provoking lyrics and rocking guitar. I think that this album was used to heal Jon and will provide healing for others and I'm anxious to hear more. Very glad I found it!! ****** My favorite song on this album is After All...that line and melody seem to haunt me. I go to sleep whispering, "after all I've done...after all I've done..." and I wake up the same.
