The John Reilly Band is a rare and excellent blend of skillful artistry and sound theology. It is smoothly eclectic, weaving melodic guitars, violins, flute and vocals through a labyrinth of time signatures, moods and themes.

This debut album showcases the band's unique musical artistry that has captured the hearts of fans all over the country. With Cross-centered songs like Faithful Word and Love, this album will not only inspire you musically but more importantly encourage your heart towards the Gospel.

The band's backbone is John Reilly’s good old acoustic folk- rock. However, with 2 violins, a flute, guitars and drums, the band is versatile enough to blend many musical genres. From Baroque-like string arrangements to fiddle-happy Celtic jams, and all the way to jazzy grooves John Reilly Band generates a sound that's engagingly fresh. During a live performance, you can hear Dan Huie and Noelle Parris Huie trading violin solos with Trina Bass adding her jazzy flute flavor. The musical experience only deepens as Trina and Noele set down their instruments to add sweeping harmonies over John’s soaring melody. Well-versed drummer Kyle Thomin and bassist Matthew Bomberger hold down the foundation with rock, jazz, and orchestral beats and rhythms.

Despite the band's pursuit of excellent musicianship, John claims their goal is not to be the next big rockstars. "The world has enough rockstars. It doesn't need six more. We're seeking to write music that points people to the hope that we've found in Christ. When our head hits the pillow at night that's what really matters."

Review by Tim Youn for John Reilly Band : While I Was On Earth 2005-07-08
First of all I would like to say that I had the privilege of having the John Reilly Band at our church for a concert to help us raise money for missions for our church. They are some of the most genuine and wholesome people you'll ever meet (sounds cliche huh?) But, nevertheless, their music, although different/eclectic, hammers away the message of the Gospel that they are so passionate about. I admit, that the music is a little "different" Think old school Dave Matthews, but more to the folk side. I highly recommend this CD, especially if you're tired of the typical CCM CD's that are coming out (they aren't bad, but you got to admit, that sound is so boring now). You'll be surprised by the utter difference in the style of music, but the lyrics are powerful and the talent in general in this band is phenomenal. From the violin/flute/guitar solos (Irish) to the ridiculously clean vocals (John in all the songs, and Trina in "You're to Blame") you will not regret buying this CD. Buy one, and buy 10 more for your family. Of course, it is a matter of preference, but for me, this CD was not only a great change from the music currently out there, but it also comes with the sincere conviction of those who know the power of the Gospel. I've gone ahead and bought another copy for a friend. Go John Reilly Band! P.S. If you have the opportunity to see them alive, go do it. It is pure fun, and the tracks don't seem to do justice to how they really sound, especially the instrumentals and Trina's voice on "You're to Blame" But really, they're all awesome. Go John Reilly Band!

Review by Rebekah for John Reilly Band : While I Was On Earth 2005-07-06
The first time I saw the John Reilly Band play, my mouth dropped to the ground in awe. They were so good, and doing a lot of work in the music industry, I'm definitely not an easy person to impress. Finally three and a half years later, they came out with their first cd. Not only is their music tight, they've got a great blend of guitar, percussion, bass, violin, flute, and vocals. Their lyrics are original and make you think, as well as encourage you to worship God and look to Him. I highly recommend this album to anyone. You definitely won't reget it.

Excellent, a must have for your collection!!! Not many artists out there hit the heart, soul, mind, and "groove bones" like the JRB does! It is Christ-centered and Christ exalting, lifting your gaze upward and toward eternity!! To top it off, the people behind the music are really walking and living what they are singing! They are genuine and love Jesus a lot! I highly recommend this album! :0)

JRB! JRB! - this is what i chant on a daily basis... every morning in fact. ok, not that often, but these guys are great. we've had the pleasure of sharing the stage with each other a few times, and boy can that reilly sing. and boy can that dan on the violin do some crazy dances. if you're looking for some fun, folk, jammin, smooth vocals, lots of instruments kind of music, this is the album for you. it reminds you of the dave matthews band but with much better violinists and a FLUTIST (or FLUTER) that can SANG too!! :-) (no offense DMB - you guys sound great too.. but i don't chant DMB every morning) - this review brought to you by koo who had a leeeetle too much coffee in the morning..
