Reviews for Jars Of Clay
Review by Paddy Venner for Jars Of Clay : Good Monsters 2006-09-22
Combining the pace of Feeder and the melody of the UK's Kaizer Chiefs, blended with their own special brand of sobriety, comes Jars of Clay's new album. It is absolutely brilliant - tracks 2, 3 and 4 are my immediate favourites. Could they get better? Maybe, but I have no idea how! JOC just keep on consistently delivering the goods - annointed stuff guys, and long may you rock

"Mirrors and Smoke" is a beauitful blend of sweet harmonies with honest and heartfelt lyrics. Dan Haseltine and Leigh Nash's vocals take us to some kind of heavenly place. Now this is what I call a real duet!

Review by Tiago for Jars Of Clay : Redemption Songs 2005-04-20
Well, all I can say is that this album is just GREAT. Maybe it won't beat WWAI, but you can be sure, you'll find yourself singing the melodies aroun more than one time... wonderful! such a great work, some lyrics are well-known by us, but they are fully restored with a new clothing, chraming and ROCKING! that's it, God Bless you guys! "O Bless Me Now my Savior... I Come To Thee... I Need Thee Every Hour... Teach me Thy Will... And Thy richest promises in me fulfill...! I Need Thee, I Need Thee...."

Review by Troy for Jars Of Clay : Redemption Songs 2005-04-05
Jars of Clay is one of the few bands that care about making good music. They don't produce what's going to be popular, but they produce good music. With their Sputnik studios, they have been allowed to explore music in new and amazing ways. "Who We Are Instead" was an amazing compilation of sounds, and it encouraged me as a musician to explore music even more. Their new Album "Redemption Songs," is another album where these guys have explored music and all that it encompasses. I love them, and their latest album has brought new life to these old hymns. I love that these guys understand good music, and are doing all they can to help us come to a greater understanding and appreciation of it.

Review by Jonathan for Jars Of Clay : Redemption Songs 2005-02-13
I must say ever since I heard Flood, Ive automatically fell in love with Jars of Clays' songs. I pretty much own all their known cds. Last October 2004, They came to Chambersburg, PA at the Capital Theatre. It was the first time for me to see them actually perform, man! I must say they can really put up a performance. I was in the second row, so I got the best view on them. Not, mentioning they had a special guest: Sarah Kelly also performing with them. She also had an excellent show. Near the ending, she sang with them on couple of their new songs. I had a chance to hear their new songs on Redemption Songs. Last month I had just preorder their new and latest cd. It also features Sarah Kelly and some other christian singers who perform in some of Jars of Clays' new songs.

Review by David for Jars Of Clay 2005-01-26
Since their self-titled first release, Jars of Clay has been searching for their musical identity, and they have finally found it. Who we are instead is a delightful mix of vintage gospel feel. It blends acoustic rock with a touch of country, adds some driving programmed drums for a borderline pop feel, and the 1930's piano to balance the modern with ancient. The songs are simple on the surface, but gain depth each time the CD spins - and it will - this is the sort of record that you leave on repeat for days on end.

Review by Jeremy for Jars Of Clay : Redemption Songs 2005-01-26
I am excited about this new cd. I love the fact that many artist are starting to bring back some of the old hymns. These songs are rich with solid theology. People have different opinions of Jars of Clay's albums. It seems to me that their first, "Jars of Clay", will be hard to beat. It has been one of my favorite albums ever since it came out. The song "Worlds Apart" has had an impact on my life. If you are looking for a good Jars of Clay CD I highly recommend the first one.

Review by Brad for Jars Of Clay : Who We Are Instead 2004-12-16
I've been a Jars fan for about ten years. Theuir message has always been awesome, and so has their sound. It's my own opinion, but Whowe are instead is by far their best album. A lot of people say it sounds country......There isnt a single song on the cd that would fit into country radio. Maybe they have slight country influence, because they do use a steel guitar now, but other than that their sound is basically just a stripped down jars of clay. They prove that a song doesnt have to be complex to be an awesome song.

Review by Jacquelin for Jars Of Clay : Who We Are Instead 2004-09-08
Who we are instead is probably the best CD Jars of Clay has made since I Left The Zoo! Jars of Clay is simply outstanding! My favorite along with Third Day and Mercy Me! You cant go wrong with this wonderful CD!! They really get God's message across loud and clear!

Review by Alison for Jars Of Clay : Who We Are Instead 2004-09-03
Jars are my fav band, then comes Third Day. I love Who We are Instead... I have loved all thier albums but consistantly the one i reach for first to put in the player is Who We are Instead. Every song had a different message and becomes my fav as i listen to it. Kudos to Jars for being who they are and true to who God is guiding and directing them to become. They also did a fab job or remaking Dan Peaks hit Lonely People! Thanks guys for another album well done and one that gives glory to our Father! love you guys!!! ~alison
