Released November 28, 2005.

From Los Angeles, California comes the debut release by the Christian rock band, Emmaus Road. Their music features a straight-forward rock sound with powerful blend of vocal harmonies. Three of the four members share the duty of lead vocals, delivering a dynamically diverse experience.

"We can't say we fit into any certain sound," explains Tony Palacio, "but it's definitely contemporary, worshipful, and features a lot of vocal harmonies. But I think our diversity is our strength."

Strong melodic vocals backed by drums and guitar-driven music written from a straight-forward approach. Nothing is fantastically intricate," Palacio explains. Which is very fitting when you listen to their no-nonsense style. However simple, though there's no mistaking their unique sound. You're hooked in right away.

Review by Tony Cummings (Cross Rhythms UK) for Emmaus Road : Seven Mile Journey 2006-01-10
Some members of Emmaus Road from Simi Valley, California have already gained plaudits from the hard nose Cross Rhythms reviews team for their contributions to the Blessed Hope Chapel live worship albums. Now Dean Palacio (vocals, guitar), Tony Palacio (bass), Charlotte Laystom (vocals) and Robbie Destocki (drums) offer a pretty impressive album debut full of gutsy praise, tender-hearted worship and an occasional musical surprise (a funky arrangement of Rick Cua's "On A Clear Night"). Lyrically, it stays in pretty straight-down-the-line declarations of love and devotion to the King of Kings with rather over familiar rhymes and images (but the same could be said of 99 per cent of worship albums). But the singing is strong (with Charlotte's vocals particularly impressive on a couple of more acoustic-orientated songs), the guitar work is excellent and there are a couple of songs here which would lift any congregation. All in all, a pretty good debut.
