David Stewart and Brian Mowrey met at Bethel College in St. Paul, MN in the fall of '99. And it wasn't long before they were playing guitar and writing songs together. With such influences as Shane Barnard and Caedmon 's Call, they bring words and melody alive with rich guitar harmony.

With the addition of Jackie Linnes (violin) and Josh Sutherland (percussion) came the name Dry Bones Dancing. (Inspired by Ezekiel 37) Following the release of Not Afraid drummer/producer Chris Richter joined up along with Pete Thorpe (keys) and Phil Kumagai (bass) giving the group a big full sound.

"Our album was produced in about eight days in Chiris' living room. We wanted something raw and natural that would capture our passion for Jesus and songwriting..." says Stew regarding their debut project.

Already making an impact on the Minnesota music scene, Brian and Stew are traveling around the country sharing their songs with audiences of all ages. With a passion for college age and high school kids, they bring stories and songs based on real life experiences that people can relate to.

Not Afraid is raw but well produced and written and a must for any lover of acoustic and folk music.

dry bones dancing has to be one of my favorite groups to just sit back and listen to in my VFW. many times you buy a cd for a few hit songs, its rare that you will have very many cds that you can listen to straight through without changing the track, but DBD has created a cd that will enhance you spiritually with Christ on an entirely different level.

I don't own the CD, but I've seen DBD live a couple times, and they're one of the most talented groups I've ever seen. Stew's guitar is incredible, and Ronnie deVries' lead blows me away every time. As soon as I get the money I'm buying this disc (along with Caleb's). Their talent and love for Jesus is incredible.

wait til you get ahold of 'eden again.' this is by far one of my favorite cds EVER. i seriously think this new cd will be a breakthrough in the christian grassroots indie movement. the songs are/were carefully crafted, each one unique in its own way. there are elements of shane barnard, john mayer, and originality that's just their own. when the folks at independentbands.com list the cd, save up your money and buy this cd. you truly won't be disappointed. and while you're at it, get caleb's cd too - because it's up there too. :)

An amazing band. Saw them in concert once and fell in love with their music. "Dirty Windows" is one of my favorite songs. This CD is fantastic and I can't wait for their next one to come out.

I have noticed most of the reviews don't touch base much on the music but its musicans. The great violin playing puts dry bones dancing in its own genre of kick butt. The guitar rythems are orginal with a hint of Shane's guitaring thanks to Stew. The rythems that that come from Sutherland's hands are very catchy and add a crucial part to the music's flow. The inspirational lyrics that come from the music will really touch your soul and the music will help back that up. The harmonies and vocals are a perfect balance to give you a great band. Buy this CD, you will not regret it.

I met Stew at a Christian camp when he and a friend of mine were sitting outside playing their guitars. Right off the bat, I could tell that Stew's an amazing musician. His passion for music and for Jesus Christ are very apparent. When Stew mentioned that he is in a band and they have a CD, I knew I had to buy it. It is definitely the best CD I have ever heard and I love #3 "Dirty Windows" - especially the laughing part. You rock Stew and thanks for being a great inspiration.

I think this CD is the best I have ever had. I had Stew as my councilor at a Christian camp, and he was the coolest guy I have ever met. He played the song Dry Bones for our group and it was amazing. He is the best musician I've ever heard. You have to buy this CD just to see how great it really is.

This group is very spiritually tuned to the Lord. They played at my church and I enjoyed every second of it. I have had the privilege of having Josh as my youth pastor and working and playing with Stew. This group sounds amazing and does a great job with relating to its audience.
