SO MUCH FOR SUBSTITUTES, downhere’s sophmore release produced by Jimmie Lee Sloas (PFR), is a dramatic leap forward from the pop sound of the debut album. Simply put…this album rocks; it’s a confident and relevant statement from a band that has matured significantly during three years of non-stop touring. The explosive new sound and lyrics are balanced by moments of reflection and worship. Songwriters Marc Martel and Jason Germain have crafted their best work to date.

This album is an amazing album with the most touching lyrics, especially "A Better Way" for which I am trying to track down sheet music. It's just beautiful.

I love their debut album, downhere and I'm excited about their new album, Wide-Eyed and Mystified because when I bought and listened to their second album, So Much For Substitutes, what I heard was a more mature and melodic sound with worshipful and meaningful lyrics. I hope downhere keeps doing what it does best: beautiful, truly-Christian lyrics.

Downhere is one of the greatest bands. They preformed at our church this summer and they were great they have the best beats to their songs and they are so nice. I wish the concert could have gone on forever cause it was really great. I hope they come out with a new cd soon cause they rock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! melanie

Downhere is the most awesome band ever!!!! I have their first cd, which I know all the words by heart, and I know most of the 'so much for substitutes' cd!!! If you are thinking about buying either cd, I promise you will NOT regret it! These bands are absolutely terrific!! The lyrics and sound is not the same as most Christian music, with its repetitive words that dont mean anything after a while. You learn something new every time after hearing these songs!

I'll be the first to tell you that downHere rocks. I got the first album, sat in the second row at a concert, and bought the new CD the day it came out. But, I think that just straight-up worship songs ( not unlike "Starspin") are the bands strong-point. Moreover, if they were to come out with a worship album, it would blow everyone out of the water. Mark my words, b/c if this happens you'll remember this; I called it.
