Released February 4, 2008. Adore & Tremble, the freshmen EP from Daniel Renstrom, is a refreshing reminder that good art and worship music don't have to seem like opposites. Combining solid original compositions and timeless hymns redone with anthemic melodic arrangements, Adore & Tremble proclaims truth with passion and originality. Renstrom's strong vocals and catchy chord progressions lay the foundation for superb electric guitar work, complete with jangly hooks and atmospheric textures. Produced by Nathan Nockels, the six-song collection runs the gamut from energetic sing-along's to quiet ethereal ballads, completing a balanced and polished finished product. Given the pop/rock musical backdrop, it's the lyrics that really resonate with meaning. Renstrom's deep grasp and hopeless love for the Gospel are apparent in lines like "Burdens were lifted away / God caused this heart to awake to his glorious grace". And while deeply personal, his songs translate just as well to a corporate context, as nearly all of these songs were birthed from leading worship in his home church at Providence Baptist in Raleigh, North Carolina.
