Released October 2002 With a strong band and a great vocal team, Radiate, from Christian City Church Atlanta is a CD of simply great songs that has a distinctly Aussie style of praise and worship with a strong American influence. The songs are all directed to God as opposed to being faith statements or songs about God and that seems to bring the listener to a point of deeper intimacy with God. This is the church music of the new millennium. Worship director, Steve Deal, from Sydney writes all the songs on Radiate and sings the majority as well as supplying all of the guitar work -- beginning with the title track Radiate, a grungy rock song that lifts and inspires a sense of thankfulness toward God. Track 2, Rain Down is another Deal-led, upbeat, stirring pop song that is inspiring and easily brings the chuch into worhsip mode. Tracks 3 and 4 feature worship leader Collen Crumbley, with track 3, I Need You absolutely slamming. It is almost impossible to keep the volume low. Pianist Steve Burkholder delivers the powerful vocals on In Grace, a tender ballad that leaves you wanting more. Worship leader Pam Jordan leads the song Higher, then it's into some sweet, soft, guitar based worship songs to close the CD, track 11 being particularly beautiful and stirring.
