It’s a warm experience being around him during worship. He reminds me of the church’s ongoing dialogue with God. He reminds me that- though we stomp and shout, longing for more from God; though we keen with sadness, yearning for reconciliation; and though we clap and yell, overflowing with gratitude- through it all, God is there, listening and responding to us. And His presence is, of course, our greatest joy and our deepest consolation.
