I first heard of Barry McGuire from the album "Barry McGuire, the 2nd Chapter of Acts, and a band called David". A few years later I moved to So Cal, during the Jesus Movement, and Calvary Chapel would sponsor Maranatha concerts up and down the coast, and Barry was one of the artists answering the call, regularly. I wanted to hear the man that had told the story of the dolphins around the fishing boat on the album. Anyone that had that kind of connection with God in their life had a story to connect God to me with. When I finally did see him in concert live, I was so appreciative of the way he would weave songs and stories in his classic folk life way. Although I didn't ever find God personally in dolphins, I did find Him in Barry McGuire. He could take his trusty 12-string in a high school gym with a crowd of young people and present the gospel while all the time making it feel like it was happening in your living room. These 30+ years later, I have ministered with music solo and with bands all over the Northwest, and have readily considered that Barry was the 1st artist to plant the seed in me way back in So Cal. I have learned and presented his songs in so many places, because of the superior communicative style they possess to these generations of our time. They continue to "break ice" between peoples, even today. Although it has been over 20 years since I last saw Barry, just last weekend at a big campout event I used "The Communion Song" for the communion on Sun morning. Later that afternoon, 20 people were baptized. Though none of them have ever known Barry McGuire, they now have known Jesus Christ... and how to remember him.

I have been a Barry McGuire fan since "Eve of Destruction" and was delighted with this CD I received today. I wish he had included the original recording of "Cosmic Cowboy," but the more disco beat version on the album is okay too. He's outstanding, and as a Christian, I appreciate his music on every level. Thanks, Barry!

I love Barry McGuire. He's never acts like a music "star". He's a real person and he acts like one. He comes to your town to minister--not to put on a show. That is really missing in modern Christian concerts!!

In 1971 i became a christian ,I was in to rock and folk rock alot and listened to Barry's (eve of distruction ) since I was led to the Lord durring the Jesus Freak movement and a lot of teaching at the the time was prophecy about the second comming oF Christ .I thought why not use Barry's song to witness with .AT that time I was in the 11th gade and witneesed to my teaches and they where not Christians but they welcomed me to witness to my fellow students in my english , physcology ,speak up class and history classes .So here I was just a new babe in christ playing this music and leading people to Christ.I thought man what if Barry ever got saved .And a few years later here's Barry with 2nd chapter of acts .I'll never forget that God used that song to bring hope and salvation.Thanks again Barry

I met Barry almost 20 yrs ago in Telluride, CO. He was there to explore the possibilty of having Christian music festival there. He gave a free concert and his testimony and the entire show was great. While we did not get the support we thought we might, Barry's music and testimony impacted many people in the area. I got 4 tapes and CDs which I enjoyed immensly. Other people also enjoyed listening to them and I ended up giving them away hoping I could buy. But they have gone out of circulation, and I have not been able to replace them. A couple pf the titles are Finer Than Gold and Pilgram. The BEST... CD is excellent and I have enjoted it very much. I recomend it and any other Barry McGuire albums to any one who enjoys listening to a man who has a passion for Christ and sharing the Gospel. Thanks, Barry, and GOD bless you real good.

When I was four my two sisters and I did a play on "Bullfrogs and Butterflies". Twenty years have passed since then and a lot has happened in our family. I have been searching for copies of the original with that Noah song (whats the title?) to give my sisters for gifts. I know this will mean as much to them as it will mean to myself.

I have a son who is diabled and when he was younger he had an album called Bullfrogs and Butterflies by Barry McGuire He is going through a stressful time right now and he wanted that album as it always brought him comfort when he was younger. I contacted Barry McGuire on line and his assistant Susan responded to my request immediately. I not only got the album on a disc, but also found that he had autographed and sent a letter with it for my son. It was one of the most wonderful days in his life, he was so happy! He has the letter and the disc and shows it to everyone. If Mr. McGuire ever thought he was forgotten he is very wrong. We had a major crowd around us while my son was showing his treasures and everyone was naming all the songs he had written and how much they loved his music. Our heartfelt thanks go to him. He will always hold a special place in our hearts. He will never know what a wonderful thing he has done for us. Thank you forever.
