Reviews for Andrew Peterson
Review by Denise for Andrew Peterson : The Far Country 2006-01-12
I don't listen to much comtemporary music. My life is full so I wait for the good stuff to come find me. I'm so glad a friend gave me The Far Country. As a mother whose 15 year old daughter has been in Heaven less than two years I was very touched by the message of Andrews songs. I especially love the line in Lay Me Down - "When you lay me down to die, you lay me down to live." These songs express beautifully the truths about Heaven I've been learning from the Bible this past year and nine months.

Review by Teresa Cechota for Andrew Peterson : Behold The Lamb Of God 2005-12-09
This is an incredible CD telling the story from OT through NT of the Great Story of redemption. Thank God for Andrew, his passion, music, testimony and love for God. These truths are something I need to be reminded of daily...so I can praise God for the wonderous gift he has given me! This is a CD I NEVER get tired of playing!

Review by Tony Neely for Andrew Peterson : The Far Country 2005-10-05
Andrew has once again created a masterpiece...The song writting as always is INCREDIBLE! From the title track through the end of the album every song is deep and meaningful...I also own Clear to Venus and Behold The Lamb of God (both great albums!) but the production on the Far Country really stands out among them all...Ben did a great job. I can't wait until Apendix A comes out!!! The Far Country met and exceeded my expectations...God Bless

Review by Shawn for Andrew Peterson : The Far Country 2005-09-27
Andy has once again created a beautiful tapestry of songs that he and co-producers Ben Shive and Andrew Osenga (the Normals, Caedmon's Call), have woven together expertly. While not straying too far from his acoustic style, TFC introduces a little more guitar work, which gives the project a fuller sound. The theme of heaven is obvious throughout the project (especially in The Far Country, Lay Me Down, The Havens Grey, More), yet there are intensely human, here-and-now themes that are just as beautiful. One such example is Mountains, which talks of our shortcomings and God's sometimes hidden work in us, and hits me in the gut every time I hear the line "I wish that I was half the man I wish that I could be". Then there is The Love of God, with its equally convicting "Love is not a feeling in your chest/ It is bending down to wash another's feet/It is faithful when the sun is in the west/and in the east". The last song, More ends abruptly, and leaves me wanting more, which points us to the truth that we should feel that way about this life as well. If we are perfectly content here on earth and don't long for more, then something is wrong. TFC will not be leaving my CD player for a long time. Thanks, Andrew, for another amazing work.

Review by Adrew for Andrew Peterson : Behold The Lamb Of God 2005-03-28
The annals of Christmas music can become laborious if we're not careful, well, thanks to Andrew Peterson, we have some new Christmas songs to sing. Real, raw, lyrically rich and moving, musically captivating; leading the listener through some ideas that we do not typically connect to our cute Nativity scenes. The reality of this immense story comes through crystal clear and brings us into the world of "the brave little boy who was God..." Bravo A.P. Thank you for your unique retelling of the "true myth".

Review by stacia for Andrew Peterson : Behold The Lamb Of God 2004-12-01
AMAZING! If you are jaded about the Christmas season, take a listen. You will be transported thru the history of the coming of Christ and will realize God's amazing plan all over again. The music is so moving, you can't listen to this without being changed.

Review by Nate for Andrew Peterson : Behold The Lamb Of God 2004-11-29
Peterson gets it right: Christmas is all the more amazing when you trudge through the anguished hope of Advent. Aside from the catchiness of his melodies, you'll find yourself absorbed into his simple and masterful meditations on why Christ's birth changes everything. "Passover Us" and "So Long, Moses" should receive special commendation.

Review by Angela for Andrew Peterson : Behold The Lamb Of God 2004-11-17
Andrew Peterson's new Christmas album is amazing. The instrumentals are beautiful and the lyrics are as moving as on his other albums, especially Labor of Love, which is sung by Jill Phillips. A necessary edition to your collection.

Review by Ivan for Andrew Peterson : Love and Thunder 2004-08-29
As much as I hate country music, Andrew Peterson is great. I have heard him on the radio just a few times, but he is both great to listen to and highly recognizable. His storytelling style reminds me a lot of late Rich Mullins, as well as Michael Card, which is one of the highest praises I can give to an Christian artist. Love and Thunder is playing right now, and although I am still to discover all the beauty of this album (since I bought it only a couple of days ago), I highly suggest it to anyone who enjoys quality Christian music.

Review by Kyle for Andrew Peterson 2004-07-20
I have seen him sing now 3 times, most recently at Lifest in Oskosh, WI. He never ceases to amaze me with his sincere writing and magically guitar playing. God is truly using him to minister to us!
