Review by Tyler for 3rd Root : A Sign Of Things To Come 2005-01-16
This is an excellent cd. I read in another review that the vocals are confusing. I would just like to say that the voals don't need to be more concentrated on the music at all. If they confuse you, then stop to realize that it is exactly the sound they re going for. The vocals aren't a mistake, they are raw, they are real. They aren't hiding behind anything. Painful emotion cannot be expressed with a pretty sound. The artist wishes to express inner pain, anguish, and he wants it to be real. This can't expressed with a "more concentrated sound."
If there is a chance that this band is still around, then don't change anything. It's great the way it is.

I just want to say that your music rocks and it grips me, but the vocals seem to be struggling to make some sounds, i don't mean to be mean, just honest. I want to know if the lead singer plays an instrument, because maybe you could use a vocalist that concentrates on the music. I don't mean to demean anyone, i just think that your band has so much potential, like i said your music grips me, but then i am confused by the vocal arrangement. I wish you guys the best of luck, God bless! Dustin
