Review by myself for 38th Parallel : Turn The Tides 2003-07-02
Absolutely amazing. The first time I heard anything by 38th, I was hanging out with some friends in a dorm room- a late night christian video show was on, and the video for Horizon came on. I could not believe that the rest of the room was sitting there so calmly, while I was absolutely blown away by what I heard. All I could think was, "This is MUSIC!" It's pretty rare for anything to be so hard and beat driven, but still so melodic and beautiful, and very very musical. It's hard to know if I should headbang or lift my arms to Heaven.

This is the greatest band ever. I started off just listening to them in a friends car but its gone much farther, I saw them live in Oskaloosa Iowa and they blew me away. They were so down to earth nothing like any big name bands are today. they believe in what their lyrics say its not just for the money. I plan on seeing them in the future. 3...times...denied

This band reminds me a bit of Eso but alot better! I saw these guys inc oncert with The Benjamin Gate and Skillet. I didn't know who they were until I saw them. What gave me a lasting impression on me was the way they head bang to the beat of the drums. I heard Horizons on radio and I went to buy thier c.d. Now thier my favorite band of all time!! I got my whole class to like them and my teacher. Im going to Alive just to see these guys again. I also did a speech on my fav song of all time "Whither" for my speech class!! These guys are the best BAND ever!!!!!!!!!!!

I have always been into hard christian music for some reason...and 38th parallel rocks my face off! their hard core style has a melodic tone to it (don't ask me how they do it) their musical talent is absolutely amazing!! if your not sure about buying their music yet, i suggest Horizon or State of mind (2 of my favorite songs) ^___^

I came across 38th Parallel in an unlikely manner. They were doing a show here in Vegas, and on their way in or out(not sure which), they passed over the Hoover Dam. It just so happens that my dad works out at the Hoover Dam at the checkpoints, and he picks up CDs of bands who pass through for me. Now believe me, I've come across some really BAD bands this way, but 38th Parallel is NOT one of those bad bands. I absolutely love the CD, worth any money you spend on it.

I was always just a punk/ska type of guy till i saw 38th Parallel live in concert for the first time.I Never heard a recording by them or liked that type of music before, but the energy they brought to the stage was unbeleivable. I was talking to Mark(vocals) from 38th Parallel before the show, he talked about his love for music of all kinds. From Musicals to Rock he liked it all. I also had the chance to talk with him about his walk with the lord and how it is his life. I bought there CD that day and saw them again teo weeks later(12/7/02) at North Park University in Chicago(opening up for the best band in the world Five Iron Frenzy). The show was even better then the first because I knew some of the songs. This past weekend(1/3/03) I went all the way to Tipp City Ohio from Chicago to see them again. It was worth the drive. The best song is You Are My God. It shows the sides and reality of being a Christian and dealing with evil and Gods plan. It really toched my heart. Get this Cd and go see them ASAP Adam Lee
